Great British Carnival present the best in live Carnival music
Bringing it round the world and back home for this year’s Ramsgate Festival
Rhythms of the City — straight from Lovebox to Ramsgate, bringing us their infectious fusion of funk, soul, Motown… and samba! Rhythms of the City are the UK’s premier samba percussion squad where drummers, singers, dancers, horns and guitars combine in a unique spectacle. They perform, not only authentic carnival samba, but many other funky styles (salsa, soca, reggae, funk, hiphop) with passion and energy.
Braceman — East London’s freshest funky soul and hip-hop, shaking that sugar.
London Hula — sway and shimmy to seductive Polynesian Rhythms, with our lovely Hula dancers.
Noko ye Dzen — London’s own West African drummers, moving our feet with their global grooves.
Choro na Chuva — infectious dance rhythms from North East Brazil.
Carolina Herrera — Columbian songwriter, singer and guitarist. Herrera has performed at many venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, Womad, the Wexford Opera Festival, Cork Jazz Festival and many other places.
Great British Carnival tours to carnivals and events across the UK as well as creating their own shows, fusing music, dance, infectious rhythms and intense costumes that showcase the best of the country’s carnival scene. Great British Carnival has appeared at Liverpool’s Brazilica, the Thames Festival, London, Margate Carnival, Bridgwater Carnival and Plymouth Respect Festival and produced their very own Great British Carnival in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic park. We have worked on collaborations in Brazil, including with Rio de Janeiro Carnival. This craziness is managed by Ramsgate-based Artaha Productions.
