This year RamsgateFestival will run from 22-30 July, alongside the Ramsgate Week sailing regatta.
We predict it is going to be amazing. For starters it will be much bigger than ever before this year – thanks to all our wonderful supporters.
Starting with opera on the beach (Handel’s Semele from Garsington Opera) and finishing with Fire Finale, the packed programme includes: Littoral Light, a beautiful illuminated twilight art installation on a remote stretch of beach involving 40 artists; the Ramsgate Slide, a giant waterslide inspired by internationally famous artist Luke Jerram; Jimmy’s Boatyard, a unique installation from Russian artists Cardboardia and Yorkshire’s Handmade Parade, working with local artists, who will bring a daily programme of boat making in the harbour (think BIG!) – and a host of diverse, fun and serious, high quality events that celebrate the unique maritime location of this extraordinary place, from nautical-themed computer games at the Micro Museum, to heritage walks and talks and plenty of music and performances. See What’s On – note that not everything is on the website yet so keep checking back for more information.
Key dates include:

Fire Finale. A twilight procession and magical fire display on Ramsgate Main Sands to close the Festival – and provide a great start to the summer holidays!
Ramsgate has the country’s only Royal Harbour as well as golden sandy beaches and is just over an hour from London by train. This year’s theme is #DreamMarine. We invite everyone to: ‘think BIG, unleash your creative potential, play and have fun. Prepare to be surprised and possibly challenged by Dream Marine in 2017’
