Whether your words were devised with the incoming tide or the product of your own brain waves, come loose them to the wind at an open mic night.

Hosted by Nancy Charley and featuring Kent poets Fiona Sinclair, Jeremy Langrish and Mark Holihan, there will be space for all to share their poems.

Megan Garrett-Jones will be reading reflections on the relation between swimming and the the body of water that seperates the UK from mainland Europe. Originally conceived as a community swimming event that was cancelled due to safety concerns, Swimming Home is musings on channel swimming as an aesthetic or political gesture.

Nancy Charley’s latest collection, Little Blue Hut, all about the sea’s myths and mysteries, will be published in February 2017 by Smokestack Books.

Megan Garrett-Jones is a Ramsgate-based artist who works in performance, public art and poetics www.meggj.com.
