Utter Thanet: Words and Actions

Clive Holland, Mischievous Theatre

Ramsgate’s Mischievous Theatre is making a piece of theatre about Thanet, from the words of people in Thanet. Join Clive to find out about the story-behind-the-play, share Insights into the work involved and the use of ‘verbatim’, to create contemporary, uplifting theatre.

“We have spoken to and recorded almost 1000 people locally about living in Thanet: what’s great, what’s not, what’s changed – is that good, or bad? How do you feel about living here? We will use their words to create a play about Thanet. But … how are we going to assemble those thousands of words into a piece of theatre for the 21st century?”

Clive will lead you through a creative, dynamic and tantalizing journey, from chatting to people in a greasy spoon cafe to making the finished touring production. He’s a bit of an expert in making theatre from existing sources – you may have seen him as a Viking in Noggin the Nog, not so long ago.

Please note that the start time of this event has altered slightly (from 5pm to 5.15pm)
