Join us for an evening screening of Garsington Opera’s brand new production of Handel’s famous opera, Semele, an extraordinary love story with a twist, first performed on 1st June 2017, presented by Looping the Loop and Opera for All.
The Guardian’s Tim Ashey describes this new production as “Handel’s celestial opera remade as a Technicolor romcom.” Read his review.
The Evening Standard’s Barry Millington says it is “cracking” and encourages Londoners to travel to see it — read review.
There will be related family friendly activities and excerpts all day – something for all ages to get involved with, from little ones to grown ups – and the professionals from Garsington on hand to explain and involve everyone.
For full details go to Big Opera Takeover.

Please help the Festival!
We are dependent on fundraising to make our full programme happen this year and every year. Please consider supporting us with a donation to help secure the Festival and its future. If everyone in Ramsgate were to give just one a pound, imagine what we could achieve for the town!
Find out how you can help, watch our fun Kickstarter video, featuring actress Brenda Blethyn and a host of other Ramsgate people and please share the link with everyone you can think of who may like to help!
