What began as part of the Ramsgate Festival in 2018, has grown to be an event in itself, celebrating the incredible history, landscapes, architecture and people of Ramsgate. Originally scheduled for July, we have postponed until the 6th -13th September to ensure that visitors have the safest and most exciting experience possible during the ongoing COVID-19 situation. We are confident that we still have a brilliant festival in store for you , in particular the festival favourite – The Sonic Trail, where sound artists create inventive and immersive site-specific works in and around the town. This is a unique and not to be missed ‘sonic odyssey’ and will take place September 10-13th. As with previous years, we were amazed with the number and ingenuity of the submissions, and are excited to be launching our new website with the announcement of The Sonic Trail participants.
On this website you can see details of everything on offer and it will be updated with more events and surprises over the forthcoming weeks as restrictions begin to ease. Visit our news page for regular features and updates.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our Angel Founding Members, Ramsgate Town Council and The Arts Council of England for their support . Their all important funding helps maintain the festival and provide financial support to a team of artists and production staff in a year when many have seen their paid work decimated.
We will continue to monitor the government’s regulations regarding live events and adapt as needs be to ensure and maintain everyone’s health and safety. For now, you can be sure that we will bring as many aspects of what you’ve loved from previous festivals, to you in 2020 . See you in September!
