Aoife O’Donovan is one of the most sought-after singer-songwriters of her generation, following 3 critically-acclaimed solo albums, prestigious accolades and notable appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and NPR Music’s Tiny Desk concerts.

St George’s church in Ramsgate is one of the most atmospheric settings around for live music and will provide the perfect stage for this mesmerising performance.

Aoife is also one third of the group I’m With Her and co-founder of the string band Crooked Still and has appeared with over a dozen symphonies including the National Symphony Orchestra as well as writing for the likes of Alison Krauss.

In 2020, I’m With Her won the GRAMMY award for Best American Roots Song and O’Donovan’s latest solo album ‘Age of Apathy’ went on to receive three further nominations in 2023.

Aoife O’Donovan  said: “I’ve always been drawn to melodies and chordal structures that were unexpected, they’re just more fun. And sometimes, performing them in historic buildings like St George’s in Ramsgate – that were created for sound to travel effortlessly –brings some extra magic to live music. I’m thrilled to be joining Ramsgate Festival of Sound for what is sure to be an unforgettable evening.”

The evening will also feature appearances from Irish/Americana duo Dolly & Clyde and Claire Hamill, whose catalogue of music and collaborations has crossed paths with The Kinks, Steve Howe (Yes), Wishbone Ash and Jethro Tull, to name a few. Don’t miss what will be a very special night of live music.

Accessibility Information: St George’s Church has stepped entry. The shortest number of stairs is five. Toilets (including an accessible one) are outside, so the steps would need to be negotiated again.
