Ramsgate Society Talks – A programme of knowledge and intrigue

The Ramsgate Society never fail to bring us an intriguing, knowledgable and interesting programme of historical and topical talks, and this year is no different.

Taking place between August 31st and September 2nd, we cant wait to welcome this special run of talks to the Festival of Sound

August 31st: Vincent in Ramsgate- Jacqui Ansell holds this topical talk live over zoom on August 31st to talk about Vincent Van Gogh and his time spent in Ramsgate. September 1st: The Real Crown Jewels of England with Clive Aslet- The fire of Notre Dame hit the heart of France and was a national loss, which Led Clive to wonder, which treasures of the UK would cause the same distress. September 2nd: Forbidden Wife – The Life and Trials of Lady Augusta Murray with Julia Abel Smith- Lady Augusta Smith’s marriage to a Prince was declared illegal, and was also kept secret… The Lady decided to spend her remaining years in Ramsgate and Julia Abel Smith tells of this intriguing and secretive story on September 2nd.
